Sloths are extremely slow-moving animals. A sloths top speed is 1.2 mph in 1 minute. It would take a sloth a month to walk one mile. Sloth's feet aren't meant for walking, but for climbing. There are two species of sloths. Two-Toed sloths and Three-Toed sloths. Two-Toed sloths are 21 to 29 inches long and weigh 9 to 17 pounds. Their brownish grey fur curves from the stomach to the back, unlike most mammals, allowing rain to run off. The fur is usually home to algae, which helps camouflage the sloth. Their long curved claws allow them to hang from branches. They move along branches with a hand-over-hand motion.

Sloths home range is Central America and Northern South America, including Peru and Brazil. Their habitat is Tropical Rainforest Canopies. They eat leaves, twigs, and fruit. That's just some basic information. Next month's blog will be about what animals prey on them.
